WellCAD Logging Software – Trainer and Technical Support (WS/3607)

Job Overview:     A leading technology Company, specialising in borehole imaging tools and data acquisition systems for more than 2 decades seek a WellCAD Trainer and Technical individual to provide training and support as required, to global clients onsite and remotely.  Applicants invited with a strong background in using or/and supporting the WellCAD software suite. There is a preference for experience in the mining or geotechnical industries but all backgrounds considered.  The Company is flexible on location but ideally you would be based in North America or Europe and can work remotely. This role offers the opportunity to work from home and travel internationally and further develop your technical skills – it is estimated that you could travel up to 25% of your time. The key to this role is your experience of WellCAD. (Please note that no direct applicants to the Company will be considered – all applicants must go through Working Smart).

     The company specialises in the design and manufacture of slimline borehole logging instrumentation, as well as developing software for geophysical data visualisation and interpretation. Their tools and software are used across a diverse range of industries – mining, geotechnics, oil and gas, hydrogeology, geothermal, and environmental. The WellCAD suite manages the complete workflow for edition, analytics, interpretation, and presentation supporting logging, core and wellsite data across various industries (mining, energy, geotechnics, engineering and groundwater).

Working globally, the Company partners with various public and private companies and affiliates in the advancement of products to bring new innovations, refined methodologies and effective ways to investigate earth science concerns and discover inspired technologies that provide the answers to in-situ questions.  

Responsibilities:    Reporting to the Commercial Director, your primary responsibilities will include:
•    Provide training on the suite of “WellCAD” software–on the basic functionality and advanced modules.
•    Provide training to customers across all segments (mining, geotechnical, oil and gas,..).  Training is providing on one-to-one basis and classroom format and delivered remotely or onsite at the customer’s premises. Work with customers in organising/coordinating these training sessions. Monitor feedback and strive to improve training materials/deliverables.
•    Provide technical support on WellCAD.
•    Manage all your support requests – escalate where required to the Product Manager and R&D but you will manage the interaction with the customer.  Keep them updated and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained throughout.
•    Participate in new software testing.
•    Build good working relationships with peers across the “Technical Support Team” and the wider Company organization.  
•    Build good working relationships with customers – this could be via online Teams meetings, onsite visits or at industry or customized events (workshops, training.).   
•    Become a specialised member of the Technical Support Team providing advice/guidance in the use of WellCAD.
•    Provide Workshops as required - again in person or remotely.
•    Working with Marketing, help build online materials for supporting customers (training content, videos..).  
•    As required, support Sales by helping to qualify potential leads.
•    Travel to customer sites as required.
•    Attend conference/events globally as required – give presentations and demonstrate WellCAD functionality.
•    Keep abreast of competitors in the market and share knowledge, market trends, challenges and drivers of customers.

Preferences:     The successful candidate will have:
•    Good WellCAD experience essential.  An understanding of advanced WellCAD functionality highly desired.
•    Mining or Geotechnical industry experience highly desired but all other industries considered.
•    Previous experience in a support or/and training role highly desired.
•    Highly technical and articulate – can grasp technical problems and have the patience and ability to resolve issues with the customer in a coherent and friendly manner essential.
•    Field experience of Borehole logging highly desired.
•    Understanding of acquisition and processing of televiewer, Full wave sonic and other typical borehole geophysical data types highly desired.
•    Understanding of software licensing functionality desired.
•    Strong project management skills essential – ability to schedule, to organise, manage and prioritise training and support requests.
•    Fluency in English essential. Preference for a 2nd language – especially Spanish, French, German...
•    Some business acumen desired – ability to listen, identify and qualify potential new business opportunities and to share with relevant Managers.
•    Some marketing awareness desired – focus on raising awareness and reputation of WellCAD and the Company, materials used for training, workshops and for conference and events...
•    Must be able to work independently and also be an excellent team player.
•    Self-motivated, enthusiastic, persistent and eager to learn.
•    Willingness to travel globally.
