Job Description: CNC Machinist – 4x roles available (immediate starts)
Location: Newton Aycliffe, County Durham
Company Overview:
We are a leading manufacturing company specializing in carbon steel products. We are seeking an
experienced CNC Machinist to join our team on a permanent basis. Tool or mould makers with
relevant experience will also be considered.
Position Overview:
As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting and operating vertical machine centres to
produce high-quality components. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience
in CNC machining and will be required to pass practical and theoretical machining tests before
employment. This role will involve working on a rotating shift pattern of mornings, afternoons, and
nights.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate vertical machine centres to produce components according to engineering
drawings and specifications.
Write and edit programmes using Haas, Fanuc, or Heidenhain languages.
Use measuring equipment such as micrometers, dial test indicators, and Verniers to ensure
accuracy and quality of finished components.
Understand G codes and M codes to effectively control machine functions.
Maintain tooling inventory and ensure proper tool selection for each machining operation.
Adhere to health and safety regulations and wear provided personal protective equipment.
Work collaboratively with the production team to meet production targets and deadlines.
Requirements:
Time-served machinist with at least 5 years of experience in CNC machining.
Experience setting and operating vertical machine centres.
Ability to read engineering drawings and understand technical specifications.
Proficiency in writing and editing programmes using Haas, Fanuc, or Heidenhain languages.
Knowledge of tooling, including indexable face and end mills, carbide tooling, and HSS tooling.
Familiarity with measuring equipment such as micrometers, dial test indicators, and Verniers.
Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Benefits:
Competitive hourly pay rate of £16.25 per hour.
Day shift – 6am to 2pm + £0.00p per hour
Afternoon shift – 2pm to 10pm + £0.50p per hour
Night shift – 10pm to 6am + £1.00p per hour
Attendance bonus of £30 per week (£6 per day).
Additional pay for afternoon and night shifts.
