Senior C&I Engineer

Superior Recruitment Group are working with a key client based in Saltend (Hull) who are looking for a Senior C&I Engineer on a Permanent basis.

It is the responsibility of the Principal C&I Engineer to support the delivery of defined engineering tasks for different projects to the highest standards complying with legal obligations and client statement of requirements. In addition, the role involves supporting the development of proposals for new business opportunities, provision of consultancy services and deputy line management responsibilities of the team. 

Major duties 

  • Where required perform the role of ‘Lead Engineer’ for appropriate projects in line with the scope of work and as-sold budgets. 
  • Delivery on time in full for responsible scope. 
  • Support resource management within the C&I Discipline. 
  • Providing inputs to MPPs, recruitment and conducting performance reviews for staff personnel. 
  • Assessing competence within the C&I discipline. 
  • Support Design Assurance for C&I discipline. 
  • Provide on-going technical support to projects and team. Support continuous improvement initiatives. Provide technical expertise for the specification, design, purchase, installation, and commissioning of C&I systems. Produce, review, and understand associated documentation relating to the design, installation, and operation of C&I systems. 
  • Analyse data, troubleshoot performance, conduct root cause analysis and make recommendations to improve C&I issues. 
  • Make decisions involving technical issues, budget considerations, project schedules and safety with a minimum level of supervision. 
  • Assist in providing user requirement specifications and/or datasheets for all items of C&I equipment, ensuring compliance with company procedures and all relevant standards. 
  • Support rollout of engineering procedures, work instructions, standards, and guidance Support the development of proposal and delivery for new business opportunities, including due diligence and consultancy. 

Qualifications 

  • Essential - bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • Desirable - Chartered or working towards chartered status. Certified Functional Safety Engineer. CompEx 12 certified.

Experience

  • Experience of C&I engineering in the delivery of the full project life cycle including Pre-FEEDs, FEEDs and EPC within chemicals, petrochemicals, oil and gas, and power generation industries.
  • Experience of hazardous area equipment selection and installation design requirements including relevant standards.
