Role profile
Develop processes and standards and lead the project risk management function, ensuring a
fit for purpose approach to risk management whilst ensuring utilisation of appropriate tools
and associated documentation. The Project Risk Manager will play a key role in delivering
effective risk management on large-scale offshore wind projects whilst developing processes
and supporting corporate governance. Working alongside project teams and corporate
functions you will be the focal point on both qualitative and quantitative risk analysis across
the business.
Key accountabilities - Corporate
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive risk management framework for Flotation
Energy; incorporate industry best practice and align with regulatory obligations
• Identify and assess risks associated with the development of offshore wind projects
• Collaborate with corporate functions and Managers to conduct regular risk
assessments across the business
• Work closely with senior management to understand and mitigate critical risks
• Coordinate with internal departments, external consultants, and advisors to
implement risk mitigation measures and controls
• Provide training and guidance to managers and employees on risk management
principles and practices
• Conduct regular reviews and audits of risk management processes and controls to
ensure effectiveness and compliance with policies and procedures
• Follow all company policies and procedures and actively support the continual
improvement of the business management system (BMS) to ensure the goals and
commitments of our HSEQS policy are consistently met
• Mentor risk team to ensure career development and continuous improvement
Key accountabilities – Project support
• Drive the development and smooth implementation of project risk management
processes on major projects
• Lead project risk workshops and development of risk registers
• Perform comprehensive Quantitative Risk Analysis, cost and schedule, to clearly
identify project risks and potential impacts
• Identify and establish risk mitigation strategies
• Ensure the project risk management process is fit for purpose through regular reviews
of the process and tools with project teams
• Integrate risk with wider project controls team to ensure impacts are captured within
project reports
• Report Project Risk to promote informed decision making
• Manage monthly risk reviews with project team to ensure the project risk register is a
live, accurate document
• Establish and ensure appropriate risk management standards for contractor reporting
• Promote a data-driven approach to enhance efficiency of project delivery
Person specification
• Degree in risk management or related subject relevant to role
• Proven experience in risk management on offshore wind projects
• Experience of industry risk management tools such as Primavera Risk Analysis, Safran
Risk
• Experience in establishing corporate risk and governance processes in related
industry sectors
• Strong knowledge of Schedule Risk Analysis and Cost Risk Analysis
• Full understanding of Quantitative Risk Assessment technique and associated
standard output and reports
• Strong problem-solving abilities and strategic awareness
• Proactive approach to risk management and opportunity identification
• Strong understanding of integrated project controls and how risk management
interfaces project control disciplines
• Strong attention to detail and focus on consistency and quality of deliverables
• Broad knowledge of offshore wind projects with the ability to challenge perceived risks
• Experience/understanding of Primavera applications (P6, OPC)
• Strong writing and reporting skills
• Excellent facilitation and presentation skills with ability to communicate effectively and
encourage collaboration
• Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and regulations
Desirable
• Institute of Risk Management or country equivalent and/or Association of Project
Management qualification
• Experience of Management/Mentoring junior personnel or leading a team
