Superior Recruitment Group are looking for a Systems Controls Engineer to join a valued client based in Aberdeen.
As a Systems Controls Engineer, you will be working on projects and providing service support for our customers in the Oil & Gas and offshore wind industries. This role will provide you with a varied and interesting workload; every day will provide you with a different challenge. The ability to work offshore is a requirement for this position for the commissioning of systems or maintenance and fault finding.
Your tasks will include but are not limited to:
- Development of the design interpreting the Customer’s requirements.
- Produce specifications, project documentation and technical reports.
- Technical responsibility for allocated tasks; attend and actively contribute to design reviews.
- Complete testing and commissioning of systems ensuring the design meets the standards and specifications.
- Fault finding and troubleshooting on PLC systems.
- Be part of the Systems support team on call rota.
- Contribute to the development of the systems engineering team and support the winning of new business.
Experience and Qualifications
- Educated to Degree/HND level in an appropriate subject or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in an engineering environment, ideally in the energy sector.
- Control and safety system applications, support and integration for the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and or renewable industries with on-shore and off-shore site experience.
- Safety and control system applications throughout the project lifecycle from initial design concepts through to installation and subsequent client support.
- Communications protocols including Modbus, OPC, DH+, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, ControlNet.
- Understanding of Control and Instrumentation.
- Understanding of Functional Safety Management requirements to IEC 61508 & IEC61511.
- Configuration of HMI and SCADA packages
- Proven track record in systems engineering
- Strong inter-personal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
