Principal Structural Engineer - Optimus Plus
Optimus Plus, a PD&MS Group are now looking for a Principal Structural Engineer to join their team on a full-time, employee basis at their office in Aberdeen on a hybrid working pattern.

Due to a recent contract win covering the structural integrity management of all assets for a major client we require a Principal Structural engineer with significant experience in the analysis of offshore structures. Knowledge of DNV Sesam and USFOS software is essential.
Key duties:
- Identify the scope of work required
- Input to project plans
- Identify areas of concern during any project or study
- Produce cost- effective engineering solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value
- Ability to address operational and maintenance issues in the design and liaise with colleagues for the best solution
- Undertake surveys, both onshore and offshore
- Exercise technical authority and autonomy in all engineering activities

About You
Our ideal candidate will enjoy team working, will be customer and quality focused, can use their own initiative and will be responsive to our business and client needs. We’d like you to have a degree in a relevant subject and significant previous experience in detail design with an understanding of other disciplines.
You need to have experience and an interest in working with AutoDesk products and have exposure to people management and development. There will be the opportunity to work in other locations, both on and offshore so candidates may need you to travel and hold the relevant certification to do so.
Candidates must have significant previous experience in the analysis of offshore structures to be considered for this role.
Knowledge of DNV Sesam and USFOS software is also essential.
