Communications & Marketing Intern (Graduate or Placement)

Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and creative individual to support our internal and external communication efforts. This
is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or placement year student to gain hands-on experience across a
broad range of communication channels, marketing campaigns, and brand-building activities. You’ll work closely with
the team at JMSL to help drive engagement, shape messaging, and enhance our brand presence across audiences.
Key Responsibilities
External Communications
ï· Assist in creating content for digital platforms, including social media, newsletters, and website updates
ï· Support PR activities such as media outreach, press release drafting, and media monitoring
ï· Contribute to marketing campaigns and promotional activities
ï· Help manage and grow our social media presence, tracking key engagement metrics
Internal Communications
ï· Draft internal newsletters, announcements, and employee engagement content
ï· Support internal events and initiatives that strengthen company culture
ï· Collaborate with HR and other departments to deliver clear and engaging communications
General Marketing Support
ï· Assist in the creation of visual and written content (e.g. Canva, PowerPoint, etc.)
ï· Conduct market research and competitor analysis
ï· Help maintain brand consistency across channels and materials
ï· Support administrative tasks
What We're Looking For
Essential:
ï· A recent graduate or placement year student in Communications, Marketing, PR, Media, or related field
ï· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
ï· Strong attention to detail and creativity
ï· Confident using social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.)
ï· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
ï· Strong organisational and time management skills
Desirable:
ï· Familiarity with design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Suite, etc.)
ï· Basic knowledge of content management systems (CMS)
ï· Interest in branding, storytelling, and digital marketing trends
