CAD Mechanical Designer

Superior Recruitment Group are working with a fantastic client based in the Glasgow area who are looking for an CAD Mechanical Designer to join their expanding team. This is a Permanent position.

The Function of the Mechanical CAD Technician is to translate Engineering requirements into workable technical designs / solutions for company projects by utilising CAD tools.

• Create 3D CAD models, drawings and bills of materials accurately and according to relevant standards using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
• Responsible and accountable for remaining within allocated budget (man hours and materials) and other design targets of optimising final cost and schedule to assigned work scope.
• Ensure models, drawings and bills of materials are delivered to specification and project timing plans.
• Responsible for all activities pertaining to the assigned work scope, as set by the Lead Engineer / CAD Manager. This includes but is not limited to: conceptual design and layouts; design packages/procedures preparation.
• Supervise relevant activities assigned to 3rd Party contractors within assigned work scope.
• Undertake allocated onsite activities, including:
  • Design package changes and improvements
  • lessons learned
  • As built designs

Essential for the role

• Qualified CAD engineer/technician specialising in Mechanical Design
• Relevant degree (BSc/BEng) in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or CAD Engineering
