Work Pack Engineer (E&I)
About The Role
Summary
The Work Pack Engineer (Electrical & Instrument) is required to prepare and compile construction work packs based on engineering deliverables. Candidates must have a electrical and instrument trades background to be considered for this long term contract role.
As the Work Pack Engineer you will -
- Work closely with construction and design engineers to understand scopes of work with a view to work pack compilation
- Prepare and compile construction work packs, in the company approved format, in accordance with required project plan or required issue date
- Provide construction led review of installation methods and materials required during compilation of work pack
- Liaison with offshore and engineering personnel to ensure every section of the work pack, including GoC or relevant equivalent, is suitably populated
- Track work packs at different revision states to ensure they are reviewed and approved by all necessary personnel in a timely manner and completed to a suitable revision state
- Liaison with the Asset Operations function, with particular regard to QHSE Systems and ISSOW compliance (including establishing isolation boundaries)
- Ensure attachment of work orders and relevant documentation to work packs to ensure highest levels of accuracy is provided
- Check other work pack group produced work and comment on same
- Liaise with Project Responsible Person (PRP) to ensure all work is accurately packaged and populated to ensure that a suitably revised work pack is available on time
- Issue work packs to DCC for transmittal to client
- Liaise with Client representative to ensure that completed work packs are attached to completed work orders, and archived as appropriate
- Close out work packs, including all lessons learnt, ensuring that all relevant paperwork is raised as a post-work review
- Input to project schedules to agree work pack issue dates and update progress against the plan
- Adhere to the company integrated management system
- Comply with quality assurance, health and safety and environmental policies
- Demonstrate and promote PD&MS QHSE principles
- Adhere to the requirements of the best practice standards recommendations and processes, in particular, risk assessment and control, reliability and failure prevention necessary to ensure the safe design, provision and use of tools, equipment and systems
About You
Qualifications
- Time Served / Modern Apprenticeship approved by City & Guilds or HNC or recognised technical qualification approved by an appropriate awarding body
Competencies
- Electrical and Instrument trades background is essential
- Previous experience in the Offshore / Onshore Oil and Gas Construction Industry as a Supervisor / Charge hand
- Demonstrable experience of involvement with upgrades to Live Drilling Units, Production Installations, upgrades to M.O.D.Us and Elevating Drilling Units
- Demonstrable experience in selecting and understanding ITRs whilst utilising Project IMS e.g. GoC Guidance on Certification
- Competent in the use of MS Office applications
- Excellent written and spoken English
