The role involves managing high-value tendering activity for a well-established provider of support services to the energy sector. You’ll lead the full tender process from planning through to submission and client sign-off, coordinating input from Commercial, Finance and Operational Teams. Working closely with a dedicated tender function, you’ll develop commercially sound, strategically aligned proposals, provide guidance across the business, and influence outcomes at a senior level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing clear and structured tender timelines across all service lines, ensuring all stages of the process are planned and coordinated.
- Developing persuasive, fully costed bid submissions that align with pre-agreed commercial strategies.
- Implementing and promoting best practice across the full tender lifecycle.
- Working closely with Senior Management to define winning strategies, including scope evaluation, points of differentiation, and commercial viability.
- Monitoring market trends and sector dynamics to support strategic bid/no-bid decisions.
- Supporting pricing activities by collaborating with Business Analysts and Finance Teams.
- Leading commercial and contractual negotiations, liaising with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Managing the preparation of proposals for both new and existing clients, ensuring commercial and contractual compliance throughout.
- Reviewing proposal and contract documents before final approval, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Coordinating the development of contract variations and amendments where required.
- Maintaining a rolling schedule of annual tenders, ensuring alignment with internal governance and audit requirements.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for communicating significant changes to contract values, pricing, or service scope.
