Subsurface Lead - Information Management - VR/30841

Work with a leading E&P company as a Subsurface Lead in the Information Management Team. You will be responsible for all subsurface information management activities, including oversight of the Management of Well Information Project and provide line-management to identified Information Management personnel. They will work with the Information Centre Team Leader to develop a highly performing team, striving for “world class” IM performance across all scopes.

 

The Subsurface Lead will promote a culture of sharing best practices and lessons learned, seeking innovation and learning both internally and externally, in order to continuously improve process efficiencies for MOWI project and the IM service.

 

This role is responsible for supporting regulatory compliance and managing relationships with project, business areas and stakeholders and liaising with business teams in defining, capturing and managing project deliverables and IM services.

 

Leadership

  • Overseeing the delivery of MOWI project, plus joint responsibility for the overall success of all DCWS and G&G related activities, working with the wider team to ensure campaigns and activities are executed safely, within budget and on schedule.
  • Demonstrating excellent stakeholder engagement by working together with the DCWS and G&G Teams to ensure all IM processes and interfaces are delivering IM best practice and meeting the needs of the leaders and their teams.
  • Working together with contractors, the regulator and all company functions to promote and ensure a cohesive and collaborative team environment in which to deliver successful and efficient IM support.
  • Line managing allocated IM resources and work with the Information Centre Team Leader to support development of personnel within the IM Department.
  • Ensuring internal and external compliance with company processes and compliance with the regulatory processes from the NSTA.
  • Developing and maintaining a positive culture, including promoting the company Mission Statement and Core Values, maintaining an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive and driving continuous improvement.

Ensure regulatory compliance (NSTA)

  • Coordinating the delivery of Section 34 notices and other requests as per Energy Act 2016 by working with the Information and Samples Coordinator and appropriate SMEs.
  • Project lead licence relinquishments by working with the ISC to ensure Information and Samples Plans are written and executed to required timelines; ensuring cross functional collaboration with all areas of business that have reportable data: Well data, seismic data, infrastructure and pipelines, production data, field data.
  • Tracking and held accountable all SMEs with reportable data in support of ISPs or requests from the NSTA for information.
  • Implementing, developing and defining procedures and specifications to ensure IM best practice is implemented.
  • Managing relationships with project, business areas and stakeholders and liaise with business teams in defining, capturing and managing project deliverables and IM services.

SHE (as per SHE-PRO-101)

  • Performing a Safety Leadership role on projects, ensuring a cohesive approach to safety and committing to: no harm to people and no adverse impact to the environment.

MOWI Project and Subsurface Focus

  • Together with the MOWI Project Leader, taking accountability for successful delivery of MOWI Project and all IM services for DCWS and G&G and joint accountability for the success of all International Division G&G and DCWS projects and activities.
  • Researching, identifying and implementing processes to deliver time, cost and quality improvements and support implementation of technical solutions.
  • Ensuring effective communication with the Project Team, stakeholders and Senior Management Team.

For assigned projects

  • Ensuring all projects are led through IM best practice processes including annual budgeting, effective cost reporting, effective and robust quality management, risk management, overall project planning and milestones, leading scenario planning, compiling resource profiles, agreeing project objectives and metrics, maintaining robust management of change, ensuring effective evaluation phases are conducted so learnings can be taken forward.
  • Maintaining oversight of the scopes of the work undertaken by DCWS and G&G Departments, ensuring they are collectively being delivered to the quality and success criteria and that the team are working together in an effective manner.
  • Establishing active and consistent risk (threat and opportunity) management throughout all phases of supported projects and work scopes.
  • Taking an overview of relationship management for the project, for example, working with the regulator, technical leads, working with DCWS in support of IM processes.
  • Ensuring effective and value-adding reporting is in place, ensuring reporting metrics and dashboards accurately reflect project status and serves to escalate risks appropriately.
  • Taking accountability for resource plans and together with the MOWI Project Leader, defining subsequent budgets for MOWI Project and other IM scopes of work related to subsurface and well data management.

For all IM activities

  • Supporting the Information Centre Team Leader with compilation of the annual department budget and have responsibility for own lines therein.
  • Sharing in the team accountability for overall department performance.

Education/Qualifications

Essential

  • Experience of managing teams and working collaboratively with external parties.
  • Knowledge of subsurface and well data sets.
  • IM or related degree or a number of years of experience in IM, document control, data management.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.

Preferred

  • CPD in Document Control and related areas.
  • Experience of delivering projects or work scopes.
  • Experience of managing budgets.
  • Knowledge of the offshore working environment and/or site-based working.
