Senior Subsea Project Manager
In support of Reach Subsea’s growth ambitions, the organisation seeks to appoint a Senior Subsea Project Manager to lead all Project activity from the UK & International Operations hub (Aberdeen).
The Senior Subsea Project Manager will be focused on leading and executing all technical, contractual, scheduling, HSEQ and commercial aspects of projects, as well as continuing to develop Reach’s project management function in line with the organisation’s growth. There is a matrix reporting structure, with the role reporting to both the region Managing Director based in Aberdeen, and functionally to the Group Projects Director based in Norway.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage all phases of projects, coordinating with Engineering, Finance, HSEQ, Commercial, Operations, and subcontractors to ensure timely and efficient project execution.

Define and monitor effective project controls and budgets, working with the Finance team to track costs and update budget reports regularly.

Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring project safety and compliance with industry standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Optimise resource allocation to maximise efficiency and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Facilitate regular communication among project teams and stakeholders, providing progress updates, addressing issues, and escalating concerns as needed.

Build and maintain excellent relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other external stakeholders.

Maximise Reach Subsea’s growth potential through strong commercial awareness, client relationships and an ability to anticipate clients’ needs.

Internally, foster strong working relationships across functions, facilitating communication and promoting teamwork to drive alignment and achieve shared goals.

Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative environment and guiding the development of direct reports.

Oversee contracts and claims, ensuring robust commercial practices and effective negotiation with all parties involved.

Contribute to tendering activity, working closely with the Tendering function to provide input / support when required.

Maintain thorough project documentation, produce reports, and ensure that all project meetings are conducted efficiently.
REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in a technical domain such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

Proven track record of delivering vessel-based subsea construction projects, including inspection, repair and maintenance, light construction, decommissioning, cable/flexible/umbilical lay, and pipelay

Experience with tendering in day-rate and lump-sum pricing

Familiarity with T&I contracts and, ideally, EPCI contract experience

Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills, with a proven track record in contract management

Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to foster a collaborative team environment

Ability to identify and implement process improvements to enhance project efficiency and cost-effectiveness

Adaptable, capable of adjusting plans and priorities quickly to respond to market dynamics, emerging opportunities and internal changes / developments.
