About the Role
We are recruiting an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Hydraulic Technician to join the workshop projects team on a full-time permanent staff basis. This role will be predominantly workshop based but may also involve working on-site either onshore, offshore or internationally. The role will work closely with the engineering department and will report directly to the Lead Technician. The position offers a variety of work, from assembling newbuild equipment to carrying out maintenance on equipment previously manufactured by Brimmond.

Tasks & Responsibilities
- Taking responsibility for the workshop phase of the build, assembly, and testing of new equipment
- Assembly and testing of hydraulic power units, reelers, control panels and associated equipment which may be diesel, electrical or pneumatically driven.
- Refurbishing and maintaining hydraulic and mechanical equipment
- Fault finding and diagnosis of hydraulic and mechanical equipment
- Ensuring your workspace is kept safe, clean, and tidy
- You may be required to occassionally work overtime at short notice
- Mentoring and developing more junior team members
- Embrace the group QHSE objectives and play an active part in maintaining and improving workshop procedures, processes, and safety
- Ensuring that company policies are followed, and deadlines achieved
- Ensuring workshop job packs are completed accurately and to a high standard
- The ability to use own initiative, and to be able to work individually or as part of a team.
Essential
- Driven, self-motivated, enthusiastic with a genuine passion for the job
- Take pride in your work and have a fine attention to detail
- Time served in a mechanical, hydraulic, or other suitable engineering discipline
- 5 years+ of experience within a senior hydraulic technician role
- Extensive experience of hydraulic and mechanical systems
- Highly competent in:
- Hose manufacturing
- Assembling / fitting hydraulic and mechanical systems
- Hydraulic pumps: installation, set up, fault finding
- Rotating equipment
- Hydraulic and mechanical fault finding and diagnosis
- Reading and understanding hydraulic schematics, 2D and 3D general assembly drawings.
- Good computer skills - Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage own workload effectively to meet deadlines as is necessary
- Communicates effectively with internal and external contacts in a professional manner
- Works effectively within a team or other work group as appropriate
Preferred
- HNC or HND qualification in an engineering discipline.
- Basic electrical knowledge, including the ability to read electrical schematics
- Capable of pipe fitting, metric compression, twin ferrule, medium pressure
- BFPA Level 1 and 2 Hydraulics
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
- Experience of hydrostatic pressure testing
- The ability to compile accurate and coherent service reports

Interview Process
Candidates who are successful with our phone interview will then be invited to a one hour in-person interview, at our facility in Kintore. The interview will be approximately 60-90 minutes and will consist of:
