Senior Commercial Specialist required for a 6-month contract with a leading specialist provider of tailored, packaged subsea solutions, offering integrated services to a varied client base throughout the offshore energy industry.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Client Contract:
- Reviewing and understanding the terms and conditions and obligations agreed to under the main contract, supporting the Project Manager with their understanding.
- Contributing to the compilation and updating of the project opportunity and risk register.
- Taking ownership of and, with support from the Project Manager, complete the commercial risk and opportunity which will flow into the monthly Project Managers Report.
- Attending weekly project team meetings (internal and external).
- Facilitating project bonds, guarantees and insurances required by client contract.
- Responsible for providing the client with vessel mobilisation notifications in line with the contract.
- Drive forward opportunities to maximise the contract and improve commercial position.
- Responsible for managing contractual change, negotiation, and execution of all variation orders/amendments.
- Ensuring timely issue of sales invoicing in accordance with the contract.
- Compiling and negotiating contractual claims should they arise.
- Settling final account with Client and ensure completion certificates are fully executed.
- Support with lessons learned. Review and evaluate performance from a commercial and contractual perspective, in conjunction with the project team members.
Subcontracting:
- Identifying goods and services to be procured for a project in conjunction with Project Manager, Senior Project Engineer, Subcontract Specialist and Procurement Specialist.
- Supporting Subcontract Specialist with the identification of the main contract flow-downs to be incorporated into the subcontract.
- Ensuring correct coding is provided to Subcontract Specialist in order for them to correctly raise the associated subcontract Purchase Order in the ERP system.
- Responsibility for negotiating Variation Requests received from Subcontractors and the execution of all Subcontractor Variation Orders.
- Checking subcontractor invoices, negotiating any disputes on the invoices, and identifying whether or not they are rechargeable to the Client.
- Resolution of disputes with Suppliers through effective communication, engagement and negotiation.
- Settle final account with Subcontractors and ensure completion certificates are fully executed where applicable.
Cost Control and Commercial Performance:
- Supporting and working with the Project Controller to track and accurately forecast all costs in the ERP system.
- Ensuring accurate and timely completion of the relevant sections with the monthly Project Managers Report.
- Completing the commercial risk and opportunity which will flow into the monthly Project Managers Report (PMR).
- Understanding and explaining the projects financial performance and any variances on a monthly basis.
This opportunity is well-suited to an experienced Commercial/Contracts professional. Previous experience of the subsea services industry is preferred, though not essential.
This is a full-time position (35 hours per week) for a 6-month duration. A hybrid working arrangement is available (3 days in the office, Tuesdays and Thursday being fixed office days).
