Join an international engineering and contracting organisation, providing services to the Energy Sector. This is a full-time, permanent position. Hybrid working is available, as well as a 9-day fortnight.
As Senior Buyer, you’ll report to the Supply Chain Manager and will be responsible for the coordination and implementation for the procurement of required goods and services.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Sourcing suppliers suitable for current and potential future requirements; developing strong working relationships and updating the approved vendor list (AVL) with all new suppliers.
- Monitoring existing purchasing procedures to ensure that the procurement process is effective and identify any procedural improvements.
- Negotiating the best possible price whilst ensuring vendors can arrange accurate and timely delivery.
- Processing requisitions, RFQ’s, quotes and the issue of Purchase Orders to suppliers, for both Materials and Service Orders (in SAP and IFS).
- Updating and maintaining in house Material Management systems.
- Coordinating kick-off meetings.
- Managing Asset Procurement Status Reporting.
- Tracking hires.
- Invoicing queries.
- Expediting orders to ensure that all promised delivery times from approved vendors are monitored and met.
- Internal expediting of PRFs/POs/cost codes/vendor credit forms.
- Assisting with qualifications on terms and conditions.
Our client is seeking a candidate with the following experience, skills and qualifications:
- Significant experience in a similar purchasing/procurement role, ideally within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Knowledge of equipment rental and tracking would be advantageous.
- Experience of working with SAP.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Business Degree or HNC/HND equivalent (preferred, not essential).
