Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary
Our Client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that financial resources are used efficiently and effectively throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of cost control methods in the construction industry.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labour, and overheads.
  • Monitor project expenditures and ensure compliance with budgetary constraints.
  • Conduct regular cost analysis and reporting to identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure accurate pricing and timely delivery of projects.
  • Assess risks and develop strategies to mitigate financial impacts on projects.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects.
  • Liaise with clients to provide updates on project costs and financial performance.

Requirements

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is preferred
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry with an emphasis on Mechanical, Electrical, AC and Duct-work is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of cost control techniques and financial management principles.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience with a range of Contract terms including JCT & NEC.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Office Based.

Location: Hull/Doncaster

Pay: £60,000.00-£65,000.00 per year (Depending on Experience).
