A Project Accountant is needed for a permanent role near the City Centre with a reputable oil and gas service provider. Responsibilities include financial control oversight, reporting, forecasting, profit and loss reviews, and balance sheet reconciliations. ERP experience and a background in project or management accounting are essential.
Reporting to the Project Director, your role will involve:
- Responsible for all aspects of project accounting and ensuring projects operate with an appropriate and effective set of financial controls.
- Timely and accurate preparation of business line accounting entries and reports in line with monthly and quarterly project timetables.
- In depth review of profit and loss and liaising with Project Managers.
- Assisting development of standard management reporting framework for use group wide.
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assisting business lines with forecasting updates and variance analysis.
- Ensuring that project risks and opportunities, mitigation plans and savings plans are calculated and disclosed at the project review meetings.
- Capturing and safeguarding project risks and opportunities, mitigation plans and savings plans are properly calculated and disclosed at the project reviews.
- Close working with assigned business line to assist with management and reduction of WIP, accrued income, aged debt and other KPI’s.
- Assisting and supporting stock and fixed asset counts.
- Preparing company VAT returns and other taxation requirements.
- Communicating and supporting internal and external payroll functions.
- Assisting the Finance Manager and wider Finance Department as required.
