Production Engineer - VR/29474

Currently recruiting for an experienced Production Engineer on a contract basis for an E&P company based in Kingswells, Aberdeen. It is a maternity cover contract position that is due to run until the end of the year, and the company are only considering PAYE contractors for this particular role.

 

Reporting to the Production Engineering Manager, the Production Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:

  • Daily monitoring, evaluation and analysis of production and injection performance.
  • Troubleshooting and remediation of well related issues.
  • Assigning well test priorities and evaluating test results.
  • Providing daily production engineering support to offshore operations.
  • Production efficiency and loss management – setting potential and loss analysis.
  • Developing production and injection optimisation targets for wells.
  • Procedure development for well operations.
  • Well failure tracking.
  • Providing production engineering support to well integrity management.
  • Well services support (primarily safeguarding and surveillance).
  • Well start-up procedure generation and support.
  • Short term production forecasting.
  • Ad-hoc work offshore as required.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • A degree qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (Chemical, Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering) is essential.
  • Previous experience in a similar Production Engineer type role, directly within the North Sea oil and gas industry, is essential.
  • Applicants should have experience in the use of production engineering software, such as Prosper, GAP and PI Processbook.
