About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity working within both new and existing projects, creating bespoke, safe and cost-effective engineering solutions for our clients within the energy sector.

Optimus Plus are now looking for a Principal Technical Safety Engineer to join our team in Aberdeen or Glasgow on a full-time, employee basis.

Key duties:

Identify the scope of work required
Input to project plans
Identify areas of concern during any project or study
Lead and chair HAZID and HAZOP workshops
Ensure designs comply with international standards (NFPA, API, DNV, ..)
Technical assurance and design review
Produce cost- effective engineering solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value
Ability to address operational and maintenance issues in the design and liaise with colleagues for the best solution
Interface with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory bodies to resolve safety issues.
Mentor and guide junior technical safety engineers

About You
Qualification:

Degree in a relevant subject

Experience / competence:
Experience in HAZOP and HAZID Chairing & Participation
Experience in Functional Safety
Experience in FEED Study
Experience in QRA, FERA, EERA, and risk assessment methodologies
Experience in Hazardous Area Classification
Previous experience in preparation of technical proposal, cost and man-hour estimates
