Senior Structural Engineer

About The Role
Optimus Plus are now looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team on a full-time employee basis. This role can be based in our office in Aberdeen or Glasgow on a flexible hybrid working model where 2 days per week can be worked remotely. We have an exciting opportunity working within both new and existing projects, creating bespoke, safe and cost-effective engineering solutions for our clients within the energy sector.

Suitable candidate’s will have significant structural design experience working in the offshore oil and gas industry and in particular in brownfield projects. Any knowledge of the North Sea assets, Asset Integrity Management, life extension studies or decommissioning would be beneficial.

Key Duties:

• Identify the scope of work required
• Input to project plans and schedules.
• Identify areas of concern during any project or study.
• Produce cost-effective engineering solutions that are fit for purpose, safe and add value to address operational and maintenance issues in the design and liaise with colleagues for the best solution
• Undertake Surveys, both onshore and offshore (not essential)
• Supervise the time of others

About You
Our ideal candidate will enjoy team working, will be customer and quality focused, can use their own initiative and will be responsive to our business and client needs.

We’d like you to have a degree in a relevant subject and significant previous experience in detail design with an understanding of other disciplines.  You need to have some experience and an interest in working with AutoDesk products.

There will be the opportunity to work in other locations, both on and offshore so candidates may need you to travel and hold the relevant certification to do so.
