The Role
Responsible for the design, planning, coordination, and technical oversight of marine construction activities, specifically related to drilling ships and offshore structures. Ensuring that all construction and modification works are executed according to design specifications, industry standards, and project requirements.
Preparing detailed engineering drawings and structural calculations, providing technical support during installation and fabrication, and ensuring compliance with class society regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and schematics for marine construction projects, focusing on drillship modifications and installations.
- Perform calculations and technical assessments related to marine structures, equipment integration, and outfitting works.
- Ensure compliance with design specifications and marine construction standards.
- Support site activities by providing engineering solutions, resolving technical issues, and ensuring that design changes are effectively managed and documented.
- Collaborate with the project engineering team to review drawings, material specifications, and project plans.
- Assist in technical documentation preparation, including method statements, work packs, and compliance checklists.
- Ensure adherence to class society regulations and project-specific marine construction standards.
- Conduct site inspections and verifications as needed to validate fabrication, and installation works against approved drawings.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-4 years of experience in marine construction engineering, specifically on drilling ships (drillships).
- Proficient in AutoCAD for 2D drafting; experience with 3D modelling software is a plus.
- Strong understanding of marine structures, outfitting, and integration works.
- Knowledge of marine industry standards and class society rules.
- Excellent technical documentation and report writing skills.
- Effective communication and coordination abilities.
- Turkish nationality or expatriates will be considered.
