This permanent role for a Management Accountant offers the chance to manage financial accounts within an education-focused environment. The ideal candidate can be fully qualified, part-qualified, or QBE. A proactive individual is needed to oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting processes, contributing to the organisation's overall financial health and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing accurate management accounts, including balance sheet and income statement reconciliations.
- Supporting in the preparation of annual audit packs and assist with audit requirements.
- Helping develop and manage the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns, including partial exemption calculations.
- Completing month-end journals to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Overseeing invoicing for all placements and ensuring the reconciliation of EPOS and stock systems to the accounting system on a monthly basis.
- Contributing to the update of monthly cash flow forecasts.
- Assisting in improving accounting processes, controls, and systems.
- Providing ad-hoc financial reporting and support to Senior Accountants or senior management as required.
Person Specification:
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Ideally a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), although part-qualified or qualified by experience candidates will also be considered.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage confidential information discreetly.
- Strong planning, organisational, and time-management skills.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Experience with Sage 200 or similar accounting software.
- Self-motivated with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to effectively delegate tasks, prioritise, and respond to change as necessary.
