Working Pattern: Permanent / Full Time 

As the Lead Engineer, you will -

• Have experience leading a team of engineers and coordinating work tasks to achieve required plan dates or be a senior / principal engineer looking for a step up in their career.
• Possess strong knowledge of the offshore and onshore gas business but similar transferrable industries skills will be also considered in leu of specific O&G experience.
• Be technically competent in own discipline and actively maintain own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development.
•  Be experienced in managing team budgets, produce scope estimates and recognising and controlling scope change.
• Liaise closely with other disciplines to ensure all equipment requirements are addressed in the design, specification of equipment, construction sequencing and commissioning.
• Provide value adding knowledge to constructability reviews and take consideration of layout restrictions, ergonomics, safety, utilities and maintainability.
• Be experienced in coordinating and controlling vendor document submissions and reviews.
• Generate, check, and approve calculations against design codes and best practice.

About You

You’ll have experience of:

• Working in a brownfield environment.
• Producing, checking, and approving structural detail drawings.
• Primary and secondary structural designs.
• Civils design.
• Producing, checking, and approving structural arrangement drawings, installation sequence drawings, lifting arrangement drawings and weight control reports.
• Designing lifting arrangements and development of installation routes.
• Creating, checking, and approving structural calculations using STAAD.
• Performing studies, FEED, and detail design of structural fabrications in an EPC environment or client role is highly preferred.
• Safety studies such as: HAZID and design safety reviews.
• Producing, checking, and approving deliverables that conform to all applicable industry engineering codes and standards as well as the client’s policies and procedures relative to the equipment being specified. Sound knowledge of relevant commonly used codes therefore required.
• IT Packages such as AutoCAD and Plant 3D would be an advantage, but not essential. Knowledge of Microsoft packages, STAAD and Mathcad is essential.

Qualifications

• BSc or equivalent in relevant Engineering Discipline
• Chartered Engineer status preferred
• Significant, demonstrable experience in Detailed Design Engineering and Engineering Checking 
• Detailed understanding of all Engineering disciplines 
• Knowledge and understanding of relevant Oil & Gas Industry Codes and Standards 
• Understand the application of Autodesk Design products 
• Competent in the use of MS Office applications 
• Survival BOSIET/FOET with CA-EBS & MIST (advantageous)
