Lead Planning Engineer
About The Role
PD&MS Group are now looking for a Lead Planning Engineer to join our Planning team on a full-time, employee basis at our office in Aberdeen.
Role Summary
Working with the planning team, the Lead Planning Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all project planning, control management support to Projects and other corporate functions needs are met.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the Company project plan / schedule and interface with / input to Client project plan
- Understand and positively react to PD&MS needs in an expedient and proactive manner within the planning function
- Responsible for the identification and delivery of department project deliverables in accordance with agreed schedules and priorities
- Responsible for the development and improvement of Planning systems, tools and processes
- Lead and support the periodic review of company Planning procedures and policy
- Attend kick off meetings and gather data to determine schedule constraints
- Establish set project baselines and obtain agreement from all stakeholders
- Liaise and interface with Client Representatives on issues of project planning
- Carry out data retrieval and review pursuant to project planning status
- Undertake general project related activities as required
- Lead, attend and support Planning Risk Reviews as required
- Compliance with Corporate Planning standards
- Communicate potential project plan / schedule risk to PRP
- Prepare, update and issue project plans
- Incorporate up to date information on project planning and control principles to the wider team, providing guidance and mentoring as needed
- Provide planning support in preparation / approval of tenders
- Responsible for ensuring professional development is maintained and identified competency requirements are undertaken in a timely manner
- Adherence to the company integrated management system
- Compliance with quality assurance, health and safety and environmental policies
- Demonstrate and promote PD&MS QHSE principles and lead by example
- Ensure unsafe activities are challenged
- Adherence to the requirements of the best practice standards recommendations and processes in the undertaking of duties, in particular, risk assessment and control, reliability and failure prevention necessary to ensure the safe design, provision and use of tools, equipment and systems
- Demonstrate and promote PD&MS values and lead by example
- Ensure direct report performance reviews are carried out within the required timescales

About You
Qualifications
- Degree qualified in a relevant subject
Competency Standards
- Significant experience in the use of Planning software
- Demonstrable experience in the application of Project Planning and Control Principles
- Reasonable understanding of all engineering disciplines
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Competent in the use of MS Office applications
- Exposure to People Management / Experience in managing and developing others
- Excellent written and spoken English
