WSG Energy Services are currently recruiting a qualified and experienced HSE Manager for a site based project based in the South East of England.
This HSE Managers role is envisaged for an initial period of 3 months with the potential for up to a further 9 months.
The HSE Managers role will entail a working rotation of 21 days on/21 days off with substance rates included.
Applications must be based in the UK or have the right to work in the UK.
Responsibility
The HSE Manager is responsible for the assurance of overall site safety management and will ensure safety control measures are identified and implemented for all operations onsite with safety-critical information, guidance and advice being distributed to all project personnel.
Deliverables
- Advising the Project Management Team on the formulation, administration, and revision of the HSSE policies and any other HSSE procedures or plans for the project.
- Submitting regular reports on HSSE performance, reporting on HSSE targets, and advising on improvement plans where appropriate
- Providing an advisory service to all WSG personnel on matters pertaining to HSSE.
- Maintaining an effective incident recording system including the evaluation of all incident reports.
- Conducting regular audits and the provision of reports and recommendations from the findings of the audits.
- Performing daily and weekly HSSE inspections.
- Coordinating the activities of all safety personnel to ensure that they are relevant and comply with the requirements of all safety policies.
- Liaising with Company HSSE representatives
- Recommending standards and requirements for the purchase of all safety related equipment.
- Application of WSG and Project HSSE procedures and regulations.
- Active participation in any Project HSSE forums, workshops, and initiatives.
- Development and implementation of Environmental Impact assessments and Risk assessments.
- Analysis of information on incidents, injuries, and damage; assess accident surveys and inspections on a regular basis to ensure that safe working practices are being implemented and complied with.
- Developing/Reviewing HSSE corrective/preventative actions
- Reviewing and reporting of trends as they pertain to HSSE performance
- Assisting in the training of WSG employees in HSSE subjects
- Ensuring strict adherence to the Project Safe Work Permit Procedures.
- Leading and coordinating incident/accident response including first aid, rescue, evacuation, investigation, and reporting.
- Liaising with field personnel in hazard and risk identification and associated mitigation measures
- Reporting positive observations, negative observations, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, near misses, accidents and incidents and environmental observations in WSG’s online reporting tool and closing out the reports as and when required. Including input for all safety observation cards for the project into the WSG online system.
- Taking part in site safety walks formal and informal including the client’s weekly safety walk.
- Consult the Project on CDM Regulation 2015 requirements and take an active role in reviewing of associated documents and update of associated documents. Consult the Project on requirements of the relevant laws and regulations that are applicable.
- Reviewing Contractor RAMS and associated documents such as COSHH /assessments and procedures attached to PTW’s as part of the PTW system process. Recommending the relevant updates required from the contractors and accepting RAMS submittals prior to RAMS being submitted to the client.
- Challenging unsafe behaviour and unsafe conditions on site in a professional manner and stopping the job if necessary, if work activities are deemed not to be safe.
Communicate relevant safety information to the relevant parties through emails, documents and verbally as and when required.
Take an active role in emergency planning, management and emergency drills.
