We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic Fabrication Senior Project Engineer to join our team based at our facility in Huntly.
The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for managing and executing fabrication projects from concept through completion. This role requires thorough technical expertise in fabrication processes (including structural steel, piping, or modular assemblies). The Senior Project Engineer ensures that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain health & safety compliance and implement best practices.
Plan, coordinate, and oversee structural and piping fabrication projects from award to completion, ensuring all work is executed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Develop project scopes, budgets, timelines, and resource plans.
Interpret drawings, specifications, and client requirements; prepare and monitor project budgets, material take-offs, and progress reports to support cost control and forecasting.
Act as the primary day-to-day point of contact for clients, providing updates, managing expectations, and maintaining strong working relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Work closely with design, procurement, workshop, and site teams to align priorities, resolve technical issues promptly, and ensure seamless information flow across departments.
Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 10 years’ demonstrable experience in similar role for a fabrication business.
Project Management training – PMI or APM accredited desirable but not essential.
Strong understanding of the complete business cycle, including RFQ’s, bidding, project management, executions of services, any claims.
Strong communication skills with senior level management
Exceptional attention to detail, and talent for accuracy and precision
Salary dependent on experience.
