Superior Recruitment are working with a large manufacturer/engineering client based in Sunderland. They are looking for a Financial Controller to join their team for a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

The Financial Controller will be responsible for the presentation of financial statements to the senior management team and supervision of all accounting-related activities and internal controls over financial reporting.

Essential Skills

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA / other relevant accounting qualification)
  • A minimum of 5 years experience within finance, with 2 years at management level
  • Technical knowledge of accounting standards and legislation
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of decision making for the wider business
  • Ability to manage a small finance team and ensure deadlines are adhered to
  • Strong excel skills and knowledge of accounting software (Sage desirable)
  • Knowledge of job costing (experience within the manufacturing or construction industry desirable)
  • Ability to travel to different UK offices as required
