The Role

Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of all electrical systems and equipment aboard a semi-submersible drilling rig to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, motors, switchgear, UPS, HVAC systems, and associated control panels.
• Conduct fault-finding and troubleshooting on AC/DC systems, PLCs, VFDs, and generators.
• Maintain and calibrate electrical and electronic equipment related to drilling systems (e.g., Top Drive, Draw Works, Mud Pumps, BOP Control Systems).
• Assist in preventive maintenance programs as per OEM and company schedules
• Support rig operations by ensuring the continuous availability of electrical power and critical systems.
• Comply with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (e.g., ABS, DNV, IEC, ATEX).
• Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Record maintenance activities in the rig’s CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System).
• Coordinate with other departments during maintenance and repair operations
