The Role
Responsible for supervising all deck operations, including lifting, rigging, deck equipment use, cargo handling, and marine support activities. Ensure all operations are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company procedures, maritime regulations, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily deck crew activities including rigging, lifting, crane operations, and cargo handling.
- Ensure proper planning and execution of deck operations in coordination with the Drill Floor Supervisor and Offshore Installation Manager (OIM).
- Conduct toolbox talks, risk assessments, and ensure all deck personnel are aware of job safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
- Inspect lifting gear, tools, and deck equipment for safety and operational readiness; report and tag out defective equipment.
- Monitor safe operations of cranes, winches, and other deck machinery during rig moves, supply vessel operations, and drilling support activities.
- Ensure compliance with company HSE policies
- Liaise with the crane operator and logistics coordinator for efficient deck space management and supply vessel interface.
- Maintain a clean and organised deck area; supervise deck maintenance, painting, and housekeeping tasks.
- Train and mentor deck crew in safe working practices and company operational procedures.
- Maintain documentation such as lift plans, equipment checklists, and daily reports.
What We’re Looking For
- BOSIET with CA-EBs
- OGUK or equivalent medical
- Crane Operator certification (stage 3)
- Must have worked on 6th or 7th gen UDW Drillships
- Minimum 2–3 years in a Deck Pusher can also be called Deck Foreman
- Experience with NOV Knuckle Boom cranes
