Overview A leading global supplier of Wireline & Perforating electro- mechanical, surface and down hole equipment to the Oil and Gas industry seeks an Area Maintenance Manager to take responsibility for equipment maintenance for Angola and adjacent countries. Applicants invited with a degree and a minimum of 8 years in manufacturing or maintenance operations. The role is open to candidates from all industries – the key is the ability and expertise to manage equipment maintenance. Ideally, the Company would prefer a national Angolan but are open to an expat.
Supported by global offices, the Company serves the upstream oil and gas industry throughout the lifecycle of the reservoir. It identifies hydrocarbons, manages geological data, offers drilling and formation evaluation, well construction and completion, and tools and technologies to optimise production.
Responsibilities Reporting to the Regional Maintenance Manager for Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa. your primary responsibilities will be to:
- With general autonomy, manage, organize, and coordinate activities for maintaining equipment for Angola and adjacent countries.
- Manage a direct workforce of circa 100 personnel.
- Work with operations management teams to develop and implement equipment maintenance strategies.
- Administer plans for efficient use of staff, real estate, and equipment to meet asset availability and reliability requirements for internal customers at the optimum cost.
- Develop and implement lead measures and review lag measures to ensure sustainable controls are in place that drive compliance with appropriate quality and safety programs.
- Collaborate with internal customers to ensure the efficient exchange of information and services.
- Develop and manage equipment maintenance budgets and directly impact a revenue center's viability or its quality of service through its personal contributions.
- Contribute directly to internal value creation through cost management.
- Establish relationships of trust with your Teams involved in maintenance and management operations.
- Promote compliance with health, safety, and environment (HSE) standards, practices, and guidelines.
- Be responsible for all stakeholder communications re your projects - report progress to managers – ensuring reports are on time and in a coherent manner.
- Define, implement and drive best practice and tools for highly effective project management deliverables – have a consistent focus on maintenance project management excellence.
- Be proactive in building upon your knowledge of best practice in relation to maintenance.
Preferences The successful candidate will have:
- Degree essential – preferably in a Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics discipline.
- Eight years of experience in manufacturing or maintenance operations essential.
- Management experience essential – preferably 5+ years.
- Experience in managing equipment relating to Wireline & Perforating electro- mechanical, surface and down hole equipment advantageous but not essential.
- Previous experience in managing people essential – you will manage multiple teams concurrently.
- Strong project management essential – a PM qualification desired.
- Excellent Client facing expertise – ability to engage effectively with all stakeholders, see the bigger picture, address concerns, help define requirements and agree scopes etc.
- An assertive individual with the personality and confidence to manage Teams across countries.
- Highly diplomatic – dealing with different cultures and levels of seniority.
- Ability to perform under pressure and to deliver results.
- Flexible to travel – can visit field locations as required
