About the role:

Location: Peterhead

Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Workshop Electrical Technician is responsible for the electrical maintenance, preparation, fault diagnosis, and repair of equipment, ensuring all activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with company procedures.

The role will involve looking after the rental fleet assets in terms of electrical items, managing electrical spares, carrying out electrical testing on units at testing, carry out yearly electrical checks and fault finding electrical problems.

As part of our European team in Peterhead, you’ll benefit from being in a busy, hands-on role. Working alongside a highly skilled workshop team, on a varied range of projects, your electrical expertise plays a key part in keeping rental equipment safe, compliant, and ready for use, every time.

About the team:

As a part of our European Rentals team, you’ll become part of a small, hardworking, and skilled team who are used to working to a high standard and specification.  You will be supported by John Davidson, Operations Manager – Rentals, and work alongside a team, whose goal, much like your own, will be to enable a quick and safe turn-around of equipment.

And you’ll be working alongside a committed and proud Motive team in the UK and globally that want to play their part in the growth of the business and support each other daily to create a positive, values driven and hard-working professional environment.

Responsibilities:

People

  • Adopt and promote the Motive Offshore Group People Values and ensuring their use is embedded throughout.
  • Develop strong working relations with key stake-holders – clients, colleagues etc
  • Be a positive ambassador for Motive Offshore Group Ltd.

Planet

  • Lead by example in setting the highest possible standards in the promotion of People Values, HSEQ procedures and best practice, ensuring compliance to the Motive Offshore Group HSEQ Policy, procedures, standards and regulatory obligations.
  • Immediately report all accidents, incidents, near misses or environmental concerns
  • Adhere to and participate in company-wide sustainability policies, procedures and initiatives as they are developed to support our Net Zero objectives.

Product

  • To be familiar with and conduct, equipment operational checks for Motive fleet of equipment prior to deployment to ensure safe operation
  • To be conversant with and adhere to all equipment operating procedures relevant to the work tasks to be performed.
  • To assist Electrical Supervisor / Workshop supervisor in the maintenance of Motive equipment in accordance with documented procedures and checklists.
  • To assist Electrical Supervisor / Workshop supervisor with all electrical maintenance and all associated documentation within the facilities
  • Responsible for the testing of Motive equipment and the operation of systems for carrying out such checks
  • To be familiar with and use quality system documentation and forms as applicable to the role of the position and the tasks to be performed
  • To comply with Motives Health and Safety policies and general site safety rules and to report any injury, near miss potentially unsafe condition / hazard or any other occurrence which may cause injury to personnel damage to equipment or affect the local environment
  • To undertake the operation of workshop cranes and forklifts as required when courses have been completed
  • Required to support operational requirements and may need to attend alternative locations where required to deliver Projects.

Required skills / knowledge:

  • Time served Qualified Electrician
  • Basic knowledge in Hydraulics
  • CompEX training in Electrical Systems
  • PLC Familiarity
  • Electrically sympathetic
  • Considerable and demonstrable post training experience in a similar environment
  • Understanding in PUWER
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written
  • Attention to detail
  • Good time management
    Understanding of HS&E obligations
